Past youth member, Kawiti Waetford, created this beautiful poetic translation of the Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves from the opera Nabucco. Upon returning to Te Tai Tokerau with his Masters in Advance Vocal Studies, Kawiti has now become one of our mentors!
Help us do the mahi we love!
Opera North supports it's community choir by providing training and performance opportunities at little or no cost.
It has become the launch-pad for many Te Tai Tokerau singers who would otherwise not have had the opportunity to explore classical singing.
We are currently fundraising to send singers to Spain in October 2026!
A little goes a long way with our many volunteers, musicians and supporters.
